Property people always say the most important thing is location. Casa Chuparrosa is located near the top of a hill with a nearly 300° view. We have almost total privacy from neighbors by the fact that we are separated by distance and greenery. Hilltop Drive is NOT a through street, so we NEVER get casual traffic. Anyone up on our hill is here to visit one of the few houses up here or is lost. The hills and drives simply are a deterrent for door to door salesmen. The only times we've answered the door to a sales-person was for Girl Scout cookies from a little girl that lives up here!
But location also means many other things beyond views.
We are located in East County away from the noise, problems, and hub-bub of a big city (San Diego is the 6th largest city in the United States and the 2nd largest city in California!). However, we are located close to all that a big city offers.
The airport is just 20 minutes away via Freeway 94 (barring bad traffic of coarse).
Schools are close at hand and there is even a Montessori school within 5 minutes and a private K through 5 school within 8 minutes from the house. (Wonder World School.)
Grossmont shopping center is less than 10 minutes away via Freeway 8.
Grossmont Hospital is less than 10 minutes away.
Mission and Fashion valley shopping is less than 15 minutes away via Freeway 8.
There are two Vons shopping centers and other amenities less than 5 minutes away in either direction on Avocado. (One at Avocado and Chase the other at Avocado and Highway 94.)
8 minutes away will get you to the new shopping center in Rancho San Diego with movie theatres, shops and restaurants.
Downtown San Diego is between 15 and 20 minutes away for theatre, restaurants, and any other entertainment you like.
The Mexican boarder is about 25 minutes away.
We have it all!
But the really great thing is that even though we are SOOOO close - we are also so far away, because we have our privacy. You know, there are times when you can have your cake and eat it too.
