Hi All,
Well, there's good news and bad.
First the great news:
Posy is doing very well. We went to the doctor today for her two week blood test after the start of chemo. The doctor indicated that her white and red cell counts are very good for her treatment. She has been feeling good for the past few days, so that's doing well. We did go to the hospital a couple days ago to have her abdomen drained, however, once there they did a sonogram and said that there wasn't enough liquid on her tummy to drain. But, the lung was another story. It was not drained last time and had evidence of much liquid. So, they decided to drain over a quart of liquid from around her right lung. That helped to reduce a lot of pressure and allows Posy to breathe much better. It also reduced the pain and allows her to eat more. Posy has lost about 5 for 6 pounds, but is doing well.
Now the not so good news. As you may know, my Mother has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and has decided to not do any surgery or chemo for her cancer. The doctors had given her from 6 weeks to 6 months. However, she has taken a turn for the worse and it looks like we are loosing her very fast.
Posy's sister should be arriving to visit Posy Wednesday in her motor home. So, if it's OK with Ramona, we will drive the motor home on Thursday to Gualala to visit Mother. This will give Posy, Ramona, and Dee time to visit on the way up and a comfortable way for Posy to travel and also see Mother. Although Posy is feeling better, she is not up to traveling in a car or by airplane yet. The doctor has given his blessings, so as soon as Ramona arrives we will discuss actual departure schedules.
Love to all,
Bob (and Posy)
