Hi Everyone,
Well here's the news.
First, Posy is doing as well as can be expected. My last message indicated the latest reports about her condition from the doctor. She is currently scheduled to have her next chemo on the 10th of July. We don't really know anything further about her prognosis until a couple of weeks after the 2nd chemo, when they will do the CA125 again test to check the action of the chemo.
Posy is very tired right now, as she went with me to visit my Mother, but she is feeling better now that we have returned home.
We left on Wednesday evening to visit Mother. We decided to go by air rather than drive because my Brother indicated that Mother was not doing well and that we should come as soon as possible. We were on the plane by 6:30 PM and made it to San Francisco. However, Mother passed away at about 6:30 that afternoon. So, Posy and I were not at her side.
My brothers and their kids were all with her. Her breathing became shallow and all came to hold hands. She seemed to realize they were all there and simply stopped breathing. Her passing was quick (less than 2 weeks from diagnosis of cancer) and painless. She had her family with her at home and was not alone.
The community that my folks live in was very close to both my Mother and Father. There had not been any kind of memorial for Dad when he passed away in February, so we had a community memorial for both Dad and Mother on July 3rd. There were lots of people and I think they all appreciated the fact that they could have closure for both of them.
Mother wanted both their ashes spread together in a place that they called 'The Cathedral' near where they lived in the redwood forest. All the sons, wives and grandchildren will be traveling to Gualala for a family only service to spread their ashes as they wished on what would have been their 53rd wedding anniversary on November 25.
I'll pass more information along about Posy after her next chemo.
