Posy's Cancer Report
August 15, 2000

Hi all,

Well, as our last message indicated, Posy had a pretty tough time of it with the last chemo. She was down for a week with nausea for the first 3 days.

She is now up and about and starting to feel better.

Posy went to visit the doctor for the 10 day checkup after the chemo. He did take a CA-125 test, but the results won't be in for another few days. He also checked white, red, and platelet counts. Her red count was down considerably, so she is now getting Epogen once a week. This is a new drug that helps the body generate more red blood cells. So hopefully she will be stronger for the next treatment.

We have an appointment with a new doctor for a 2nd opinion, just to check that everything is headed in the right direction, and that we should continue with the chemo, rather than some other process.

I'll report to you what we find out on the CA-125 test and from the new doctor after the 25th.

Posy's next chemo is currently scheduled for August 31 a full 4 weeks from the previous chemo rather than 3 weeks to give her more of a chance to recuperate between sessions. (We do have a bed scheduled for the next chemo. I hope they don't pull that away from her this time.)

More later,

Bob
