Hi Everyone,
We have just returned from the cancer center. Posy did not have a Gemzar chemo today. Her blood count on the red cells and the 'differential' was just not right. Although she is still taking the Epogen to help the red count, the doctor indicated that Posy may need a hemoglobin transfusion next week. She is scheduled to return on Tuesday afternoon for the next chemo (if her blood counts are right). She may return on Wednesday for a blood transfusion after being tested and typed on Tuesday.
This last week has been pretty hard. Posy has been taking more medication for nausea and pain during the week. She is also showing signs of swollen ankles, so the doctor has asked to double up on the diuretic that Posy takes.
So, Posy has a reprieve for the weekend. Even though she is tired from the low red counts, maybe she can feel a little better this weekend with the few days wait.
More when I know anything. Hope you don't get tired of hearing from me weekly.
